Ross Dempster is a production designer on Netflix's Lost in Space.
Overview[]
Born just outside Glasgow, Scotland, Ross Dempster almost headed into Fine Art, but instead took up an offer from film school. He began his career in the industry soon after graduation with his first job assisting acclaimed production designer Michael Carlin.
From there, Ross worked up through the art department ultimately art directing on many large movies suc has 2012, GODZILLA, SEVENTH SUN, and ELYSIUM, giving him a strong understanding of art, design and production having worked with many of the best designers in the business.
Ross approaches each movie or series with the intention of making every scene as visually interesting as it can be, pushing boundaries and introducing fresh ideas of color, mood, graphic style and character - thinking about how the space might be used best by camera and performers.
Ross lives on a small farm with his wife, children, six horses, three dogs and his Triumph motorcycle.
